What is the status of Mask Mandates for this event?

Accepted Answer

Fully vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear face coverings or social distance in indoor or outdoor areas of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel. We ask that all unvaccinated guests continue to wear face coverings and practice social distancing when they are in public spaces inside the hotel.

BuildOUT California views wearing a mask as ‘Badge of Courage’ and we strongly advocate for all attendees to be fully vaccinated and boosted.

Are the Founders Day Events Free?

Access to the following elements of BuildOUT California’s Founders Day Events are free to attend but you must RSVP in advance.

Both the VIP Reception and Gala Dinner/Awards Program are open to Sponsors, and their invited guests, and those who purchase tickets. You can purchase an individual (or multiple tickets) here.

Are the Founders Day Events available via Zoom?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  As BuildOUT California’s Associates and Stakeholders are from a very wide geographical area (California, the US and Abroad) our Breakout Sessions (Golden Pitches, Rainbow Roundtable, TWG and Workforce Development) are both ‘live/in-person’ as well as being broadcast via Zoom.

Can Public Agency Representative participate in the Founders Day events?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  We encourage public agency participation at the Founders Day event!  Please contact Paul Pendergast (paul@pendergastconsulinggroup.com) with your questions and/or desire to participate in Founders Day events.

What are the mask mandates if I take public transportation to the Founders Day Event?

Accepted Answer

Most Public Transportation, and Ride Share, Transportation options require you wear a mask. BuildOUT California urges everyone to wear masks, get fully vaccinated and boosted prior to your arrival at the Founders Day events.

What are my public transportation options to get to the SF Marriott Marquis Hotel?

From San Francisco International Airport: 
13.8 miles from the host hotel 
Take BART from SFO and disembark at the San Francisco Powell Station).

From Oakland International Airport 
20 miles from the host hotel 
Take BART from OIA and disembark at the San Francisco Powell Street Station.

From Norm Mineta International Airport/San Jose 
45 miles from the host hotel 
Connect with BART at the Berryessa/North San Jose Station and disembark at the San Francisco Powell Street Station.

Via Amtrak 
Emeryville is the closest Amtrak Train Station to San Francisco. There is a connecting thruway bus service is available to downtown San Francisco Live in San Francisco.

Take MUNI 
From all points within San Francisco take the M, KT, J, N, S-Shuttle Lines to the Powell Street Station.

BuildOUT California strives to ensure that all our events are accessible to individuals with disabilities or those who need special accommodations. Taking care to create an accessible event benefits not only individuals with visible or known disabilities but also helps to ensure that all participants/attendees, including individuals with non-obvious disabilities and/or chronic health conditions, and people of all ages and body types, are able to fully engage in our programs and events.

The San Francisco Marriott Marquis Hotel is accessible via all Ride Share options.

What my parking options at the SF Marriott Marquis Hotel?

Accepted Answer

The Marriott Marquis Hotel offers paid in-house parking (for a fee).

The Fifth & Mission Parking Garage (which is a paid parking option) is directly across from host hotel.

Are there special room accommodations/rates available if I am traveling to the event from outside the Bay Area?

Accepted Answer

The Marriott Marquis Hotel has established the following special room rates for BuildOUT California event attendees:

Single/Double: $224 (plus sales tax and SF/CA tourism fee) 
Triple: $254 (plus sales tax and SF/CA tourism fee) 
Quad: $284 (plus sales tax and SF/CA tourism fee)
