As Building Equality, headquartered in London, England, celebrates their tenth anniversary we stand in solidarity with their mission to build an alliance of built environment consultants, engineers, developers, contractors, and institutions who are passionate about working together and harnessing the collective power to drive LGBTQIA+ inclusion in the construction, engineering and built environment industry. Building Equality has an extensive presence across the UK, with 60+ organizations from industry regularly participating in joint initiatives to support LGBTQIA+ inclusion.

Building Equality’s vision is to have an AEC industry that is wholly welcoming, inclusive and supportive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender + other related communities. BuildIT is enormously proud to have formed a collaboration with Building Equality through our association with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) which dates back to our founding days, weeks and months of 2020.
 
BuildIT’s Community Impact Award to Building Equality will be presented to its Founder, Christina Riley, and its current President, Mark Bennett on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
